Horses

Some time back I was out taking photos with a couple of good friends. We were planning on shooting some seascape photos (and we did), but on our way to the shore all these horses showed up. I’m not a horse-guy to any great extent, but watching those animals moving around the fields together was actually quite fascinating.

Kiting…?

Some time back, a good friend and I went kiting. Or, “went kiting” is an overstatement of what we actually did, none of us had done this before, and we struggled quite a bit with getting the thing up in the air. At some point I gave up the whole idea, and gave the lines to my friend. Luckily I had brought my camera, so I started shooting photos instead.

All I know in life…

…I have from pop lyrics. OK, that is not entirely true, but from my point of view, nothing is said better than the things that are said with music. I have found that pop music is a well of wisdom. A pop well of wisdom.

The first quote is from “Both sides now” by Joni Mitchell, the second is from “Slip sliding away” by Paul Simon.

Details from my home

When the time I can spend on photography gets a little short, I turn to the things around me for possible motives. Sometimes the photos turn out to be disasters, and sometimes they turn out alright. And when they turn out alright, they kind of make my see the things that are close to me a little different.

Taking a step back from the ordinary and looking at it in another way often add something to an established understanding.

Long mornings….

Absolutely nothing is like long mornings with good food and the sun peeking in through the window. Soft music on the speakers. Plenty of time. A couple of good friends.

And its autumn.

Autumn, actually…

Autumn, actually, can be a very nice season. It depends, though, what you make of it. Try taking a day off in the middle of the week and walk with your boy/girlfriend on the leafs in the park when the rest of the world is working. Open a bottle of wine when the wind blows outside you house. Have looong dinners with good friends. When the summer ends, you start to remember how good it is to go inside for the winter.

At least I do.

Letting go

October 10, 2010

Needed to make a trip into the capital a couple of days ago. I managed to take some time off while I was in the city.

Wondering what the lives of other people are like, provides a distance to your own.
